so everything is "wicked" awesome, cool, pissah....etc. BUT,
some of the new technology chris has built to make our life's easier, more
efficient and mistake-free is truly wicked pissah!
First, he developed our own proofing system for custom logos. this sounds
simple but mapping threads to PMS colors to monitors is pretty difficult.
Second, the proof is based on the actual embroidery file (we call it a
DST)....which means, the logo can some day be used in our embroidery
studio.....and for the customer this means that once their logo is set-up the
first time, they can change the thread colors, add lettering or even add stock art
by themselves. Once they save it, its another copy that is saved in their
account. IE completely self-service if they want it to be.
Second, chris has worked on what we call auto-ordering....which is a
stock/ordering system that allows us to pick and/or order (from the
manufacturer) garments for hundreds of 1-300 unit orders efficiently each
day. anyone involved in operations (especially of custom orders) knows
this is much easier said than done. we always dream of it but when it
truly works in practice, it is amazing!
and sort of third, the combination of all our technology is really starting to
show its power. the direct customer effect has eliminated mistakes, the
organizational software has improved scalability infinitely….BUT the
combination should help reduce our costs and further increase quality and value to the
customer…..which is the real coup.
